Lock up the love?

In Paris, on a bridge at Notre Dame (see my previous Post) I found hundreds of locks. Even it seems they wouldn’t have any purpose there, they have a purpose.

When I was younger couples cut hearts in trees or in rocks. But over the time,

some couples got the idea, to buy a lock, some engrave their names or initials and a date or a year, go to a bridge, put the lock on it, close the lock and throw the keys in the river below the bridge.

I saw such not only in Paris, but also in Cologne and in Praque. Are ther similar practices in your area? If so, go and bring back a photo to attach it here. How do you think about the idea? Is it possible to lock up the love or to harden a relationship with such things?

Stay tuned for the next post on Paris.
