Weekend Wanderings

ruhrtal-panorama_wThis weekend we have had wonderful weather. Two nice sunny and warm days. Ideal for going out to take some photos.

I was out to scout a place, where I already was, back in January. As you can see, the ambience changed much, although most of the trees are still without leaves. But, some are already blooming white.

The panoramic photo above was taken back in April 2009. You can see the valley and the river Ruhr, where I was on Saturday afternoon. In the gallery you can see the old castle Blankenstein with its high tower. The panorama above was taken from that tower.

On my way back home, I didn’t use the highway. Instead I took small roads in the countryside. Behind a curve I met a small sheepfold with some sheep and goats. Three of the sheep had her lambs with them. As you can see by the umbilical cords, they are still newborns. I guess, they are only a few hours old.

Enjoy.
