Monochrome Madness 3-14

600_2153-cht_wMissing the summer so much 😦

We freeze in the wet, while in southern Europe forests are burning and they miss the necessary rain as much, as we miss the warmth and the sun.

This is a poor gorilla. Although, he (or is he a she – I don’t know) is not alone in the inclosure, she looks very depressive for me. I guess, she’s not happy, being captured. We’re not happy, because we miss a real summer here.

The image is from the same zoo visit, as the lion, two weeks ago.

I guess, it’s a Grauer’s gorilla, formerly known as the eastern lowland gorilla (Gorilla beringei graueri). I didn’t take any notes while there.

This is my contribution to Monochrome Madness organized by Leanne Cole. Look at here site, to see many more monochrome images created by many other talented photographers.

Take care!

  1. It has a very sad look, indeed.
But we have really warm summer now. Everybody is sweating… 🙂

    1. Thanks, Sonja!
I wrote the post on Saturday. Since yesterday we also have 2 hot days, but the next thunderstorm with a significant temperature drop is proposed for tomorrow – every 3 weeks 2 or 3 hot days and lots of rain in between.

  2. Oh gosh, he does look unhappy 😦 I just read a post about unhappy polar bear in Chinese mega mall. They have almost similar expression face.. 😦

What do you think?
