This week’s topic for the weekly photo challenge by “The Daily Post” is “rare”.
This tiny thing shaped like a cut-off fingernail is the biggest thing in the solar system: the sun itself.
I picked an image taken during a (partial) solar eclipse. I wrote a bit more about this event and the circumstances in a past post. You can also find some further images in that other post. Have a look!
Solar eclipses take part every few years, but they are visible only in a small area and this area changes from occurrence to occurrence. So, it’s a very rareย event in every man’s live. And, many people will never seen one.
Take care have a great weekend!

LOL – great idea, Janet ๐
Thank you very much
but, in fact, that part of my nic really references to the sun. (Spanish: sol)
the sun makes us living and illuminates everything, so that we can see. And, photography means painting with light. The light comes from the sun and here we are ๐
๐ great picture!
Have a very HAPPY weekend ๐
๐ thank you so much. For you, too!
Well done .. Perfect for rare
Thanks, Julie ๐
At first I thought, what a strange image of the moon. Lol! I love this photo of the solar eclipse. I’m excited for the solar eclipse to happen on August 21st, 2017! I’ll have my camera ready!
Thanks, Amanda! You also guessed right: the moon is also in the image ๐
Unfortunately, I can’t make it to the 2017 eclipse. So I still hope for the next one
haha good point! The moon is in the image too! ๐
Yep – without the moon we won’t have had an eclipse ๐
