Monochrome Madness 3-33
This week we have a theme at Monochrome Madness. It’s “square” or “rectangular”.
I picked an image from my Iceland series. It’s a view inside one of the glass walls of Harpa, the fantastic opera house in Reykjavik.
This is my contribution to Monochrome Madness organized by Leanne Cole. Look at here site on Thursday (Australian time), to see many more monochrome images created by many other talented photographers from all over the world.
I’d also encourage you to participate. The conditions are published in each of here Monochrome Madness posts.

Monochrome Madness 3-31
It’s mid November, the middle of fall. Although there are still many colourful leaves on the trees, we have had the first snow last week. The snow came over night and even during the days snow felt in the lowlands at a hight of about 200m. In several regions we have had the first snow break of this winter. Because of the many leaves still hanging on the trees, the weight of the wet snow broke of some of the branches.
This weekend, the temperature felt below 0°C at night and even during daytime the temperature was still very low. Most of the fruits remaining on the trees can’t be harvested anymore. Food for the birds. Ponts got an icy surface. Saturday was a quite beautiful day, cold but sunny.

A trip to Fécamp
Now we are in Fécamp. A small town with a quite big and interesting harbour. The slideshow has some images taken along the cliff and a few from the harbour. From a photographers perspective, the town itself is not so interesting. but, there are a few restaurants with a fantastic view over the ocean.
Come here in the late afternoon and enjoy the lights in the harbour. You can also watch the fishermen bringing their catch home.

WPC: chaos
This week’s topic for the weekly photo challenge by “The Daily Post” is “chaos”.
These are letters inside a printshop. With these little parts newspapers and books were used to be printed. It was a hard job. Both, setting up the printing plate and sorting the single letters back in their box after usage.
What a bad luck, if the letters fall out of their boxes accidentally and have to resorted in the right boxed.

Hiking around Étretat
From Étretat you can walk along the cliffs either north or south. When walking south, you’ll reach the estuary of the river Seine and Le Havre.
In northern direction, you can get to Yport or Fécamp. It’s a very nice path along the cliff. The ocean to your left and farmlands to your right. You can get on the track easily from the promenade of Étretat. On both sides of the beach, there are paths and stairs to reach the top of the cliff.
It’s about 9 km from Étretat to Yport and another 9 km from Yport to Fécamp.
A warning: have an eye for the edge of the cliff. The path is often very near to the edge of the cliff. So, you might come in danger of falling down, when the soil under the grass is rinsed or eroded. A chalk cliff is very soft and gives room to wind and rain very easy.
Take care!
Wordless Wednesday: conkers
Monochrome Madness 3-29
It’s time for Monochrome Madness. This week we have another themed Monochrome Madness. The theme is “travel”.
There are so many options to visualise travel: think of i.e. luggage, people in a railway station, at a harbour or an airport, different travel vehicles or travel destinations and so on. I guess, you got the idea.
Despite I have many images from my different trips fitting for each of the above categories, I picked an image taken during one of my flights with a hot-air balloon. A fantastic experience gliding softly over the landscape.
