These 2 common black-headed gulls (Larus ridibundus) seemed to wait for something. During low tide I found them sitting on these piles of a Lahnung at the coast of Schleswig-Holstein.
In German the are called “Lachmöwe”, meaning “laughing gull” because of the sound of their cries.

yup, I already read about that in our newspaper and in several places online. Some radio stations also picked this as a subject for news messages. It’s not only the birds. Over the last 25 years the amount of insects in Europe decreased by 75%. Only about a quarter of the insects is around compared to the amount 25 years ago. What a drama 😦
