Lens-Artists Photo Challange 150: “Let’s Get Wild!“

We have a guest host this week for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Diane She asks for the wild because she works in the wild as a park ranger.

I know, there are a few other meanings in the word “wild”, but I’m concentrating on wild as in “wildlife”.

Enjoy the gallery. Hint: clicking in one of the images starts the slideshow in a bigger size.

Second hint: I’m currently running a raffle. You can win a voucher code for Excire Foto  (*AD because of an affiliate link* ). Check out, how you can become one of the winners 😊

Take care!

Lens-Artists Photo Challange 149: “Cool Colors – Blue and Green“

These are the days, where I’m happy to have software helping me discovering images quite fast. Tina asked for images with blue and green for the Lens-Artists photo challenge and this way I’m able to deliver very fast. Opening the find dialog, choose the two relevant colors and I’m presented with dozens of suitable images to choose from.

I hope you like the selection:

If you’re interested to give the software a try, there’s a free trial available:

Throwback Thursday: mouse view

There are different ways to make images more interesting. One of the technics to do this is changing the point of view. You might remember my post on this a couple of weeks ago. Here I used an existing small animal’s trail for bringing your eye-level way down to the eye-level of a mouse or a frog.

Take care!

Monochrome Tuesday: I got the blues

You’re a regular reader and you’re surprised seeing a different topic as usual on Tuesdays? Don’t wonder. Leanne Cole, the organizer of Monochrome Madness, is currently on vacation. Though, she pauses for a few weeks. But, I put a monochrome image online for you, anyway.

What a funny coincidence, this weeks theme at The Daily Post is ‘monochromatic‘. As usual, I’ve put my contribution online on Friday. But, here is another one:

As you can see, a monochromatic image does not necessarily be black and white or grayscale. Here we have blue and white.

Take care!

dps Weekly Photography Challenge – blue

600_6001-e_wThe guys over at dps asked for their weekly photo challenge for “blue”.

Blue as a color is found everywhere on the planet: water, ocean, lakes, sky, flowers, eyes and many other things, too. Also, you can feel blue, when you’re depressed or exhausted. When describing someone as ‘blue’ in German, you’re saying he or she is found drunk.

This photo from my upcoming series on Iceland has several kinds of natural blue, so I preferred it on many others:

1. the sky
2. the water reflecting the sky
3. the water
4. the ice in the shadows on the mountains
5. the very dense ice swimming on the water
6. my hands and nose from the cold air 🙂
and, maybe, you can find some further blues, too.

Take care and enjoy the silence!
