a photographer's view to the world – a traveler's blog
Here you can see, why it is important to wear dark clothing instead of these intense colorful functional clothing. You can find three people disturbing a perfect image of an old stone bridge on the Isle of Skye. The two guys chatting at the right side of the bridge are giving perspective and help you feel the size of the bridge. But, did you also recognize the tiny lady on the right side near the edge of the image? When she would have chosen a colorful jacket instead of the dark-gray / black one, she would have popped out much more and the degree of disturbance would be bigger.
Take care!
In my last post, I mentioned the bridge you have to cross for reaching the fairy pools. Here we are! This is the bridge. The gaps between the stones are about 50-70 cm (appr. 2-2,5 ft). While the stones are broad enough to stand, solid and quit plane, I’d recommend to cross it carefully. Especially, when they are wet. You know, wet polished stones might become slippery. And these stones are polished by the boots from all the people crossing the bridge. Having a solid hiking pole will help you much 🙂

before the storm.
railroad bridge Müngsten is still in reconstruction. Fortunately, the reconstruction process does not forbid anymore driving over it.

The fifth year of monochrome images is over. Wow!
This series started as a part of Monochrome Madness organized by the Australian photographer Leanne Cole. But, after 220 weeks, she, unfortunately, stopped it last year for some personal reasons. Next week, I’ll start in the sixth year. Stay tuned what will come.
This week, I picked up an image taken last year on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. I already showed it here, but I picked it because I consider this is the one I love most from the images published here during the last 12 months. You can check them by clicking on this link. If you want to, you can drop me a line, what you think, which is best in your opinion.
Take care!
You’re a regular reader and you’re surprised seeing a different topic as usual on Tuesdays? Don’t wonder. Leanne Cole, the organizer of Monochrome Madness, is currently on vacation. Though, she pauses for a few weeks. But, I put a monochrome image online for you, anyway.
Summer’s nearly over, now. Meteorologists declare September 1st to be the first day of fall, although the astronomical start of fall is tomorrow. I hope, you enjoyed your summer (in case, you live in the northern hemisphere, like I do) or your winter (in the southern hemisphere).
September 23rd is the day, when day and night are of the same length, just like on March 20th. This happens, when the sun crosses the equator. Because of the tracks of our planet through the universe is not exactly balanced with the earth rotation, these moments can differ a few hours. Thus, it is i.e. 23rd in one year and 22nd in the other. The same is true for the crossing in spring.

As you might have seen, this weeks topic at weekly photo challenge at The Daily Post is ‘connected’. I already have put my contribution online on Friday evening. It was a different interpretation, than Ben from WordPress might have had in his mind, when he published the theme. Here, I have a second post for that theme. But, this time way more following his idea 🙂

In Paris, on a bridge at Notre Dame (see my previous Post) I found hundreds of locks. Even it seems they wouldn’t have any purpose there, they have a purpose.
When I was younger couples cut hearts in trees or in rocks. But over the time,
